Ingredients

1/2 cup margarine
1 cup chocolate chips
2 large eggs
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven on to 350F {175C}.

  2. Grease an 8x8 pan.

  3. Combine the butter or margarine and the chocolate chips in the saucepan. Place on low heat.

  4. Stir often until they are melted. Do not overheat. Remove from heat.

  5. Beat the eggs until frothy. Add the sugar and vanilla flavoring. Beat to mix. Add the chocolate mixture. Stir.

  6. Add the flour and the walnuts. Stir just until moistened. Turn the batter in to the pan. Spread evenly with a rubber spatula.

  7. Bake on the center rack in the oven for about 25 minutes.

  8. A wooden toothpick insert in the center should come out moist but not wet with batter.

  9. Cool Brownies completely before icing.
