Ingredients
1 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon shortening
6 cups cornflakes
1 cup coarsely chopped salted peanuts
1 bar (7 ounce) milk chocolate, melted
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces
Directions
Line a 13x9 pan with foil and grease.
In a 3 quart saucepan, combine the corn syrup, granulated sugar and brown sugar.
Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
Remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter until smooth.
Stir in the cornflakes and peanuts until coated.
Turn into pan and press firmly and evenly into bottom.
Spread with melted milk chocolate and sprinkle with semi-sweet chocolate.
Cool thoroughly.
Cut into bars and serve.
*If you like, melt together the semisweet chocolate and shortening to drizzle over the bars.
