6 sheets rolled puff pastry
1 jar prepared basil pesto (or homemade)
grated fresh parmesan cheese
4 ounces softened butter
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Grease baking trays.
Mix pesto with softened butter to form a spread.
Spread mixture over thawed puff pastry sheets evenly.
Sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese.
Use a star shaped cookie cutter to cut sheets into stars and place on baking tray.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, until risen and golden.
(Use cut off pastry pieces to make snacks for lunch boxes, etc.)
These were fairly easy to make and I enjoyed the cut off pieces as a tasty treat! I used a small scalloped edge circle and it made quite alot.

These are yummy, but took me longer to make than I anticipated. It's a little tedious to cut out the stars (even with the cookie cutter). Be sure to put any puff pastry that you are not cutting in the fridge!! Otherwise the sheets will get too soft and stick together.
