Ingredients
115g plain flour
5 tablespoons cocoa powder
280g caster sugar
2 beaten eggs
115g melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional)
Directions
Pre-heat the oven to 170 C.
You will need a greased 8" spring form cake tin with loose base.
Sieve the flour and cocoa powder together in a large bowl.
Add the sugar and mix in the eggs.
Add the melted butter and vanilla essence.
Mix thoroughly before pouring in to the cake tins.
Bake in the oven for 25 - 30 minutes.
Note: The best way to melt the butter is to boil some water and put a small amount in a glass bowl. Put the butter in another bowl and stand that bowl in the bowl with the hot water. Stir until melted.
