Ingredients
1 cup black walnuts, chopped
1 cup pecans, chopped
1/2 pound green candy cherries, halved
1 can (4 ounce) flake coconut
2 cups flour
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1 2/3 cups sugar
5 eggs
1 dash of salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
Grease and flour pan, put brown or parchment paper on bottom of pan and grease and flour paper.
Combine nuts, cherries, and coconut; add flour and salt; mix.
Cream butter until light and fluffy. Add sugar gradually and continue to cream. Add eggs, 1 at a time.
Add flour mixture.
Blend all together and pour into prepared pans.
Cover top tightly w/ foil.
Place a pan of hot water in bottom of oven.
Bake for 2 1/2 hours or until done. Remove foil for last hr. to allow top to dry out.
Cake is done when top feels slick and dry to touch and pulls away from sides of pan.
