Ingredients
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
3 cups applesauce
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon baking soda
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon allspice
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 chopped pecans or walnuts
2 cups raisins
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease a 9x13 cake pan.
Cream butter and sugars.
Combine applesauce and baking soda and add to creamed mixture, beating until blended, then add flour, salt and spices
Mix until smooth. Stir in nuts and raisins, spoon into prepared pan
Bake for 45 minutes or until cake tests done. (Or bake in tube pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until cake tests done.)

I was a bit suspicious that there aren't any eggs in the ingredient list and that the recipe calls for so much baking soda. Nevertheless, the cake tastes delicious! I didn't add the raisins or nuts as I didn't have any in the pantry. Still yummy!
