10 Festive Ways to Address Envelopes This Holiday Season

When sending out your holiday cards this year, why not make the envelope as special as what’s contained inside? Receiving a card enveloped in a unique design makes opening it twice as fun! Read on for ten neat ways to dress up your envelopes.

1. Metallic Christmas Tree

Lindsey Bugbee of The Postman’s Knock has lots of ideas for giving your holiday cards and envelopes a stunning look. I really love how she fills the square envelope with a metallic tree, pretty diagonal lettering, flourishes, and unique postage stamps! For more inspiration from Lindsey, including a step-by-step tutorial on drawing a metallic Christmas tree, click here.

2. Trees Galore

Crystal Kate of Live. Craft. Create. is full of fun, festive ways to address an envelope. From tree doodles to writing out the address in the shape of a tree, I’m inspired by Crystal’s pine fresh ideas! Be sure to check out her blog to see more.

3. A Christmas Present

By drawing thick horizontal and vertical lines, you can make an envelope look like a Christmas present. I especially love the hand drawn pine needles, holly leaves, and pinecones on this envelope. And even if calligraphy isn’t your style, your everyday handwriting will look quite nice with this embellishment.

Etsy Item of the Day: Nordic Christmas Gnomes

Aren’t these gnomes the cutest? I just love how their hats cover their eyes so all you can see are their bulbous noses! This delightful pair of Nordic gnomes are donning red holiday outfits and would be a lovely addition to one’s traditional Christmas decor. If you have a soft spot for gnomes like I do, but red isn’t your color, check out these turquoise gnomes, gold gnomes, or gnomes in muted sweaters.

Send Some Quirky Holiday Greetings

Since I’m in the market for Christmas cards, I’ve been scouring around online for some neat designs. I generally like cards that make me smile, whether they’re funny, cute, or quirky. Naturally, I couldn’t keep all this festive goodness to myself, so I’m sharing my finds with all you lovely folks.

Send Some Quirky Holiday Greetings
  1. This T-Rex card is perfect for anyone who likes dinosaurs or has young boys. I know my nephews would LOVE this card!

  2. For someone who fancies merfolk and the sea, send this sweet Mer-ry Christmas card.

  3. Send magical Christmas greetings with a festive unicorn card.

  4. Instead of sending a card that may end up in a box (or worse, the trash bin), give an ornament card such as this Cool Yule Penguin.

  5. Let your loved ones know you are wishing them “a whale of a Christmas” with this beautifully designed card.

  6. Dog lovers will chuckle at the sight of this card featuring a doxie wrapped in lights!

Send Some Quirky Holiday Greetings
  1. Merry Crustmas, everyone! This adorable card features a little piece of bread fashioned from felt, complete with a Santa hat.

  2. Add digital stickers to your photo when you order this “Staching Through the Snow” card. After uploading your photo, simply click the small pencil icon to open the Effect & Filters panel, then add stickers, overlays, and more.

  3. By putting a family photo on an ornament card, friends and family will want to hang it on their tree this year and years to come. You can customize your cards by choosing the background color and the silhouette shape.

  4. This card made me laugh! Of course, our favorite part of Christmas is spending time with loved ones, but—let’s be honest—we all love to receive presents, too.

  5. This hedgehog card is printed on birch wood, rather than paper. What a unique way to send seasonal greetings!

  6. To your friends who enjoy a good pun, say “Avo very merry Christmas!”
