Ingredients
1 pound pecan halves or 3-1/2 cups mixed nuts (almonds, pecans, walnuts)
2 egg whites
1 cup sugar
pinch of salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 bag (12 ounce) white chocolate morsels
Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Lightly toast nuts in oven, watch closely so as not to burn.
Melt butter in 15x10 inch pan, set aside.
Beat egg whites and salt until soft peaks form.
Add sugar and beat until stiff.
Fold nuts into meringue.
Spread nuts over butter.
Bake for about 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes or until nuts are coated with a brown covering and no butter remains.
Melt chocolate morsels and coat cooled nuts with melted chocolate.
Spread on waxed paper to harden.
