Ingredients
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar, divided
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking soda
1/2 tablespoon salt
5 dozen Hershey's Kisses, unwrapped
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Beat shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar and 1/2 cup granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add egg, milk, and vanilla. Mix well.
Combine flour, baking soda, and salt and add to creamed ingredients.
Using a rounded teaspoon full, shape into one inch balls.
Roll in remaining 1/4 cup sugar.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet about 8 minutes.
Remove from oven and place a chocolate kiss in the center of each cookie.
Press down until cookie starts to crack.
