Ingredients
1 3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup soft shortening
2/3 cup sugar (less if using chocolate chips)
2 eggs, unbeaten
2-3 mashed ripe bananas
chocolate chips, optional
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease large loaf pan or 2 small.
Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in small bowl.
In large bowl mix sugar and shortening then add eggs until light and fluffy.
Blend flour mixture in alternately with bananas until smooth.
Add chocolate chips, if using, to mixture by hand.
Pour into pan.
Bake 1 hour.
Cool in pan 10 minutes.
Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.

Since I love the combination of walnuts & raisins, I always add them to my basic banana bread recipes. I added some to this recipe instead of chocolate chips (not my favorite), sprinkled the greased Bundt form with bread crumbs, decorated the top with powdered sugar - delish!
